We Need To Do More – Remembering Crystal Papineau

This week Crystal Papineau died while trying to find clothing to stay warm. Her death highlights the constant struggle faced by those who lack housing.

Crystal’s death is not about the design of used clothing collection bins, it is about the lack of emergency shelter and affordable housing in Toronto.

Kapri Rabin, Executive Director of Street Health was among those speaking at a memorial for Crystal, reported in the Toronto Star.

The City of Toronto needs to do more.

All city leaders must focus their efforts on the real issues that leave those who are experiencing poverty and homelessness in life threatening circumstances.
