Thank you walkers, sponsors and volunteers!

Street Health’s first fundraising walk, as part of the Coldest Night Of the Year (CNOY), was informative, cold and a success – thank to our wonderful group of walkers, sponsors and volunteers! Here is some of the feedback we received:

“… what an amazing experience this walk was and many of us had never walked in this part of the city before.”

“We got a tour of Street Health, including its overdose prevention site. We got to wear funny blue hats. The streets of the downtown east side show their wrinkles at night. And there are lots of folks just a few blocks away with little to wear and few places to rest. Your donations will help Street Health to keep meeting people where they are with dignity.”

“As Frank, Community Harm Reduction Response Team Mentor, so eloquently put it: Street Health doesn’t encourage drug use, but we don’t make abstinence a condition of service either. We meet people where they are and put wind in the sails of those who are ready.”

Street Health’s walkers raised over $18,000.

Special thanks to Blue Sea Philanthropy, David Mintz Catering and St. Luke’s United Church for their support which made this event possible.
