People Before Politics was the timely theme of the Harm Reducation International Conference in Porto, Portugal.
Street Health staff members: Mary Kay MacVicar, Harm Reducation Coordinator; Frank Coburn, Peer Instructor & Mentor; Kelly White, OPS Coordinator and Jessica Hales, Nurse Practioner attended…thanks to funding from Health Canada’s Substance Use and Addictions Program (SUAP)
Community Harm Reducation Team Peer Program Graduates Amanda Gratton and Iye Sanneh also attended to share their program learnings through a poster presentation. They are pictured below with program instructor Frank.
Portugal’s progressive approach to drug policy and harm reduction includes the decriminalisation of possession and the use of all drugs.
